Issue: Copy setting from one picture to another doesn't apply the White Balance/Temp

  • Lightroom Classic Version Number: 12.01
  • OS Version Number: Win 10 Pro

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In develop mode choose a picture, do some adjustment and Temp change
  2. Copy setteing from this picture (make sure white Balanc  is selected)
  3. Paste the setting to a different picture

Expected result: Temp should be as the first picture we copied
Actual result: Temp remained as in the original picture

Copying of White Balance / Temp works correctly in my LR 12.0.1 / Mac OS 12.6.  See the attached screen recording.

One thing to be aware of: If the source photo's WB is set to As Shot or Auto, then that mode is copied to the target photo, not the source photo's numerical value of Temp, and then the value of Temp in the target photo is computed based on that mode (which will likely be a different Temp than in the source photo). See the second screen recording.

Very effective way of demonstrating what sync does. I hadn't realized that it copies the mode.
