Crop Defaults to Locked Original Aspect

I am using Lightroom Classic v 13.0.1 on a Macbook Pro.

The crop tool defaults to the Original Aspect and is locked.  If I want to change the aspect ratio I first need to click the lock icon to unlock it.  I did not have to do this in the past. The lock default appears to have been added relatively recently.  
Is there a way to change the default so it is not automatically locked?  

Also, what is the difference between the Original and As Shot?

    For cameras that let you shoot or crop in-camera at aspect ratios different than the native ratio of the sensor, Original is the sensor's aspect ratio and As Shot is whatever you set in the camera.

      Try this-

      1) Open the Crop tool by clicking on the crop icon

      2) Click the padlock to unlock it

      3) Immediately exit the Crop tool  (by again clicking the crop icon)

      I think you will find that the padlock is now in the unlock default state the next time you use it.

       

      "Original and As Shot?" Are you referring to White-Balance?
