Question

Crop grid problem

Lr v8.1  When the crop tool is chosen my typical view of thirds shows just fine.  As soon as I click to readjust the crop the grid changes to a bunch of small squares.  This is a new result for me.  It has always stayed with the thirds grid I have chosen for cropping.  Maybe I inadvertently hit some key shortcut to change it but cannot figure out how to fix.

Could someone pleas help me?

Thank you!

Tom

the grid changes to a bunch of small squares.

I also see this occur whenever I click the mouse cursor 'Outside' of the crop rectangle.

When the cursor is outside the crop margins, Lightroom must assume you may want to rotate the image and so gives you the small square grid to assist alignment.

My 'thirds' grid (or my set overlay) remains if the cursor is upon or within the crop guidelines.

The keyboard [ O ] is the shortcut key to change the Overlay (thirds, grid, spiral, etc)

Thank you Wobert.  I can work with that.  But I think I have always been clicking outside of the crop box to rotate etc and this has not been happing.  It just looks so strange to me.  The small grid lines are also appearing quite bold so they hide fine lines that I may want to align to.

There were changes to the 'thickness' or visibility of guidelines, so you may just now be noticing those changes.

Last change I believe was in Classic v7.5

I do not remember being really aware of the 'Grid' appearance, so not able to offer a better answer.
