Custom lens profile - How to save?

Hi all.

This is a question i see all over the internet, with no good answers.

I have created a lens profile in Adobe Lens profile Creator. My basic question is how to make it visible in Lightroom Classic.

Software:

Lightroom Classic 2018

Mac OS High Sierra

Many tutorials seem to give advice that simply does not work., and most are vague, as if to say "you should already know this". Including the answers on this site.

Can someone help? Where do i save the profile? I have it created and everything, i just want it to appear in Lightroom.

I believe user created profiles should be stored in the "user" file location. See the screen capture.

Yes that is what I said. Go to your home folder, then to Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/ in that home folder. Maybe that wasn't completely clear.

Yep i got that part, and as i have said, when i went there i found a copy already saved there. I suspect Creator saves a copy there for you.

However it does not appear in any adobe apps.

Open your home folder. If you do not see a ‘Library’ folder, then unhide it by choosing ‘Show View Options’ menu in the Finder and then checking the option at the bottom of the dialog.

Then go to Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/

Hi.

I looked there, and it seems the profile i made is already there?

(I named it rather distinctly to find it easily, i guess Creator must have put it there?).

However, it is not visible in the list op profiles.

What now?

What type of image do you have selected? DNG lens profiles are only for raw files.
