Delete from Lightroom without Recycle Bin

Explorer ,
Nov 02, 2024 Nov 02, 2024

Hi,

When deleting a file in Lightroom and choosing the option to also delete it from the disk, then LR tries to move the file to the recycle bin. Is there a way to have LR delete a file from the disk without it going to the recycle bin? I am on Windows 11.

Background: I am having my iCloud photos folder added to Lightroom, and would like to delete photos from it via Lightroom. Unfortunately the Windows client for iCloud does not support the move operation to the recycle bin. When using Del key in Windows Explorer, there is an error, it works only with Shift+Del (=without recycle bin). This seems to be a known problem and I don't think Apple will fix it. So I am looking for a workaround so that deleting files from Lightroom could still work.

Regards, Robert
