Deleted Current Catalog, But Edits Were Synced — Can I Recover Them

Hello everyone.
 
I have a big issue, when clearing out my laptop, i was deleting a lot of stuff. What I thought was an old backup was my current catalog and i cant recover it.
 
Before this happended all edit were synced to the cloud.
 
My question is if i begin a new catalog and allow it to sync to the cloud, will it pull down all the edits into the new catalog and from there can I just relink the images to the raw images I have.

Oh sorry. I synced lightroom classic. I know that they are not the original RAW images

I did not set it up when I got my macbook as I'm quite new to the apple products having used window laptops for years

Then read my earlier reply again. If you sync a new catalog to the cloud, all the existing content in the cloud will be downloaded into this catalog. That means those smart previews (with their edits) will be downloaded as if they were new images. The question is how they will be named (I have no idea). If they have the same name as the originals (but .dng as extension), then you could use the 'Syncomatic' plugin to copy those edits to the originals. If not, then I don't think there is an easy solution. You will probably have to do it manually one by one...

What exactly is synced to the cloud? Just your images? Those would be synced at smart preview size.Don't you have a recent backup to try?
