Denoise doesn’t like my files

Denoise is supposed to work with Bayer RAW files in latest Lightroom Classic. It says the files from my CANON EOS 5D Mark II, which produces Bayer files, do not work. Huh? Also does anyone know if there are plans for Leica files to work?

You need to reset your Canon for a true raw document, sRaw, mRaw etc are not really raws and will not work.

Do you perhaps shoot sRaw or mRaw files instead of full raw files?

If you take one of your files that doesn't work and convert it to DNG. Library>Convert Photo to DNG
Then go to the Metadata Panel and set the view mode to DNG, what does it say in the Mosaic Data field?

If the field says "yes" Denoise should work. If it says "no" it means that your shooting format was not compatible.

I am having the same problem with my Sony files which have been converted to DNG.  Shouldn't it work on all DNG files?  Any suggestions?

Depends on the flavor of DNG. Some are not really raw data (for example, Linear DNG):

Thanks for that.  There is so much to learn.  My main question though is why would it not work with a DNG that was created by the very program I am attempting to use?  I saved my Sony photos as DNG when I load them into Lightroom.  Given this, why would the LRC denoise not work with a LRC created DNG?  It makes no sense.
