I recently moved some files from one external to another IN LIGHTROOM CLASSIC and now it's saying that the destination file is missing. Can anyone give me a clue as to why this would happen?

There generally is not a destination file ... there is a destination Folder. Could that be what you mean?

As a first troubleshooting step, ensure LR has been granted Full Disk Access (not Files And Folders) permission:

Yes Lightroom has full disk access

Is this what you get on startup? If so, it is harmless. It means that your current import settings use this destination folder, but you probably disconnected that disk so the folder is not available. So Lightroom Classic will use your 'Pictures' folder as default destination, but of course you can simply change that when you actually import images.

I understand that it's just an annoyance however I wasn't importing. I was MOVING files from one drive to the other. Both drives are conncected. I don't understand how this could happen since I was moving files inside of LRC .

I asked if you got the warning at startup, because that is when Lightroom checks the availability of folders that are mentioned in import presets, not while importing. If it happened while you were moving images, then it could be something else. Note that Lightroom mentions a specific folder in the dialog, so it only means that this particular folder is not available, not necessarily that the drive is not available. Maybe you deleted or moved that folder.

No, I get the error when I go into a different drive.

What do you mean with "Go into a different drive"? Explain step by step what you are doing when that error comes up.

I have several external drives attached for specific purposes... Family - Backup - Fine Art and so on. I moved the files from the Fine Art Drive by dragging the file to another external that I will be using on the road. Then the error came up.

Did you drag the files from the main grid onto a different folder (on a different disk) in the Lightroom folder panel, or did you drag their folder? If you dragged their folder, then that folder was moved (not copied) to the other disk, so if this is the folder mentioned in the dialog than that explains it and is exactly what I described earlier. That folder was still set as the destination for the next import, and because it was moved the folder path mentioned in the dialog no longer exists, so the import destination was reset to the default import destination. Nothing to worry about. This is not an error dialog, just a friendly warning.

Yes... I just dragged the folder to another drive. I did that same thing with several other files which didn't cause any issues. How do I fix?

The next time you import images it will fix itself.

OK... I hope so, because the pop up is annoying. Thank you so much for all of your help.

Just a quick question if I may? You said "That folder was still set as the destination for the next import, and because it was moved the folder path mentioned in the dialog no longer exists, so the import destination was reset to the default import destination." I don't think I have ever done that because I just import from my memory card. So how does one "SET" a destination folder?

When you import images from a memory card, you copy these images to a folder on your hard drive. That is the destination folder and Lightroom will remember this folder. If you (re)move that folder, then Lightroom remembers a folder that is no longer there.
