Display won't refresh with wacom pen in hover zone

I've just installed a brand new Wacom Intuos tablet and I'm experiencing a strange issue where lightroom won't complete a function until I lift the pen up out of the hover zone. For example, clicking the left mouse on the image would normally zoom in instantly. When I tap the pen on the image the icon changes from a magnifier to a hand but the image isn't zoomed in. I have to lift the pen away from the tablet before the zoom happens.

The same thing happens if I hit a keyboard shortcut such as "k" to create a new brush mask. If the pen is in the hover zone of the tablet nothing happens, I have to lift it up. This happens if Windows Ink is turned on or off.

I'm running windows 11, all updates installed, all drivers up-to-date. Lightroom Classic 14.2

Also worth noting everything is working correctly in Lightroom 8.2

Problem solved, Bitdefender Total Security is causing the glitch. Adding the Lightroom.exe to the exceptions fixes it. I'll also report this to Bitdefender support.

Video showing the issue in action, can anyone else running Windows, LrC 14.2 and a wacom reproduce this problem?

@Rikk Flohr: Photography Try this. With the pen inside the hover zone of the tablet press k to start creating a brush mask and see if the masking fly out appears.

Hmm, I've done clean installs of creative cloud/lightroom and the best I can get is zoom will work until I try and open say crop or masking. At that point I need to lift the pen out of the hover zone and then zoom no longer works and I have to revert to lifting again.

I wonder if it's an issue with the tablet model/driver. I'm using an Intuos S (non Pro) and the latest driver. I used to have a Huion Kamvas 16 Pro and that worked fine.

I've just tried with my laptop and get the same result but if it's working with other wacom models I guess it's an issue with the Intuos S. I'll see what Wacom can suggest.

An update on this. The issue is the same using a Huion Inspiroy tablet as well, again on both my desktop and laptop.

Thanks for this solution.
My old Wacom was due for replacement and I decided to go with a Huion if that would be enough for me.
I was experiencing the same problems and decided to return te Huion and buy a new Intuos Pro (M). But again, the same problem occured.
I was afraid I had to start getting used to lift my pen regularly to see any changes.

Where exactly in Bitdefender Total Security did you add Lightroom.exe?
Thanks for your help.

Thank you.
I couldn't easily find the location in the Dutch version.
I will test it later.
