New Here ,
Dec 03, 2019 Dec 03, 2019

Hi,

I have Lightroom 3 installed on my Mac and it doesn't open. Support asked me to write on here for the download link.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

If you are asking about the Traditional version of LR, now called Lightroom Classic, you need to contact Adobe support, Chat, and ask them to send you a link to download Lightroom version 3.

Contact Customer Care

If you are asking about the Newer Cloud Centric version then you use the Creative Cloud Desktop App to download and install Creative Cloud programs.

Also, what MAC OS? If you are talking the very old 32 bit Lightroom v3 from back in 2009, and you are on MAC OS Catalina, then no, not going to work, ever.

Follow-thru

Apparently I am wrong. A 64 bit version was included in LR 3, and can work on MAC OS Catalina

>> A 64 bit version was included in LR 3, and can work on MAC OS Catalina

LR3 (catalog based, released in 2009) is 64 bit but the installer is 32 bit so LR3 cannot be installed, uninstalled or reinstalled on Catalina.

AFAIK, the only way to run catalog-based LR3 on Catalina is to have it already installed on Mojave or earlier then upgrade to Catalina.

And I think that page you linked to is about LIGHTROOM Cloud Centric and Not the traditional version of LR.

They talk about LR 2.4.1 and 3 which with the traditional versions are both around 10 years old. When has Adobe ever tested 10 year old software on newer operating systems and when there has been 6 newer versions released.

That is why I asked if the OP was asking about the traditional version or the Cloud Centric version.

Good point, JSM.

These ill-conceived naming conventions for Lightroom keep causing confusion.

ill-conceived (Ha Ha), Not only naming of software. Include this forum system in that.

how did you get it to work?  My mac thinks Lr3 is "malware" and wants to trash it.

Hello, Bambook... if you read this thread, you will see that there are two different software that are called "Lightroom 3" and we can't help you until you specify which one you are talking about.
