Downloading Presets

Hi there... hope someone can help. I have LR Classic version 10.4 and have presets in LRTemplate format i want to download. I followed several you tube video - preferences / develop presets / user presets etc but they still do not load / convert to XMP... any idea how to solve this issue..what am i doing wrong ? thanks

Open a photo in Develop. In the Presets panel, click the + button and select Import Presets:

 

Navigate to the .lrtemplate file you want to import. (Note that the menu command File > Import Develop Profiles And Presets is buggy and won't import .lrtemplate files.)

 

If that doesn't work, please describe in more detail what you're seeing or not seeing at each step.

i get the error the preset file was the wrong type of preset

Thanks... i wnet through the steps but still nothing....either i import files and they say not preset file wrong type of preset or if i covert them from lrtemplate to .xmp it say XMP metadata for the file contain no settings ?

Those aren't the steps shown in the video:

 

1. Open the .lrtemplate and verify that it has a line:

type = "LocalizedAdjustmentPreset"

2. Do Preferences > Presets > Show All Other Lightroom Presets.

 

3. In File Explorer, move the .lrtemplate file into the "Local Adjustment Presets" subfolder.

 

4. Restart LR.

 

5. Verify that the preset appears in the Effect: drop-down menu of the Graduated Filter, Radial Filter, and Adjustment Brush tools.
