Edit in Photoshop [Open as Smart Objects/Merge/Layers] Grayed Out

Sep 18, 2025 Sep 18, 2025

A new version if Photoshop Beta went out this morning and now all the Edit in Photoshop for Open as Smart Objects/Merge/Layers are all grayed out unless Photoshop Beta version is the configured in External Editing.  If I have the regular non-beta version, doesn't work.  Even if I uninstalled the Photoshop Beta version it is still grayed out.

I marked your response as correct for now. May I ask if you tried to uninstall and reinstall both apps?

Good Morning CMass.  No I didn't uninstall/reinstall neither applications.  Historically doing that has created a mess for me.  :(.   And my apologies, just noticed that I inlcuded the incorrect version on my workaround post.  Is should be:

Now I am having a challenge with Content Credentials (Beta) in Photoshop and downgrading/upgrading does not resolve it.  I get "Open a file to use Content Credentials (Beta)." when I do have a file opened.  UGH. Are you notincing the same thing?
