Facial recognition not working the way I expected

Newb here.  I'm switching from Picassa to Lightroom Classic for my photo management.  I had it index my 16K+ pix and verified that it seemed to recognize a lot of faces (seemingly miraculously because I didn't tell it who any of them were; I assume it grabbed that info from metadata created by Picassa).  I haven't tested it extensively, but I noticed that it only returns a single picture of someone ("Buddy") who it correctly listed under Named People and for whom there are several pictures.  This happens when searching on the person's first name under Text, Any Searchable Field, and Contains All.  Plus, the picture it returns is different from the one it shows under Named People.  What's going on?

Try these-  Selecting [All Photographs] in the catalog panel, Search for [Metadata] Keywords > Contains > buddy.

Or in the Keyword List panel - filter the panel view for [People] and look through named people, or simply enter "buddy" in the keyword search box.

My Metadata options don't include "Keywords > Contains."  The keyword List panel only indicates one photo contains "Buddy."  Entering "buddy" in the Search box yields the ski photo shown in the included image (you can see the search box there), not the "Buddy Brown" photo in the inset.

I might have misled you with "Metadata"..- Search for 'Text' and search for text in Keywords-

Search for [Text] Keywords > Contains > buddy.  (Don't use 'Contains All'.)

In your screen-clips face detection has identified 12 photos of 'Buddy Brown'. Is there a "Buddy Brown" anywhere in your Keyword List panel?

 

In my example- Face detection has identified  7 photos of "Priest" and a search in [People] keywords indicates 7 photos with this KW.
