Not sure this is a bug, but I have been unable to update to LrC 14.0.1. I keep getting the following error message:

Exit Code: 146 -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 1 warnings(s) FATAL: Error (Code = 146) executing in command 'MoveFileCommand' for package: 'AdobeLightroom-mul', version:14.0.1.202410161356 FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: AdobeLightroom-mul Version: 14.0.1.202410161356). Error code: '146' WARN: Unable to move file at "/System/Volumes/Data/.adobeTemp/26764CD6-8D0D-4DFB-A58B-7F195FD154A4/1/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app/Contents/Helpers/DynamicLinkMediaServer/dynamiclinkmediaserver.app/Contents/ImporterREDServer.app/Contents/Frameworks" to "/Applications/Adobe Lightroom Classic/Adobe Lightroom Classic.app/Contents/Helpers/DynamicLinkMediaServer/dynamiclinkmediaserver.app/Contents/ImporterREDServer.app/Contents/Frameworks" . Try setting correct permissions to the specified file/folder or parent folder, so that admin has rights to modify it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I looked at the /System/Volumes directory and there is no Data directory yet, so I'm assuming Adobe was trying to create the directory.
I'm not sure how to resolve this other than to change the permissions on the Volumes directory to "Read and write" for "everybody". That makes
me a little uncomfortable. I've tried updating several times, tried rebooting the machine, and tried turning off
FileVault—none of those helped. I've done some searching online and I haven't found anyone else reporting a similar problem.
Any suggestions? If I remember correctly, I've updated my MacOs to Sonoma since I last updated LrC. Don't
know if that would make a difference. I updated Bridge and Photoshop with no problems today. Bridge
is working OK; haven't opened PS yet.

Correct answer bradmacpro@aol.com

Rename your Lightroom Classic.app as Lightroom Classic old.app and it should work. The permissions got messed up with the application folder, so you will need your account password to allow the change, but the installer should work now.

I have this exact same issue too. Photoshop was updated 2 days ago without a problem but lightroom gets error code 146 when trying to update.

Thank you @anneg60362629 ! Very clear and helpful. I may have to try this but was hoping for a reply from @G0apher or another Adobe employee that would solve the issue.

I don't like uninstalling apps because of the risk of losing settings, presets,  -all these (small) things one has carefully orchestrated over the years to suit personal preferences  - the where and how now long forgotten.

But better to be brave and self-supporting and make things work again, like you did.

The uninstaller gives you the option of not removing preferences & other information when you run it. I haven't noticed anything different with LrC since I did the uninstall/reinstall—I haven't done a lot beyond exporting files I needed to print, though.

Reposting this because some of the text got cut off when I posted it the first time.
