Hello! Recently I recieved "File access was denied" when I tried to edit a photo (all photos) in Lightroom 5. I am running Windows 10. I may have accidentally deleted something when I was trying to "clean up" my computer. I've searched for answers but nothing has worked. Help, please!

In Lightroom- Take a screen-clip of the report from MENU: Help > System Info... and insert in your reply.
Did you delete any image files?
Where are all your image files?

I did not delete any image files. The images are all stored on an external hard drive. Thanks

I find it odd that your library path points to a backup folder. Is that the correct catalog? Normally people put backups in a folder named backups. Normally they do not place working files in a backup folder.

Please quote the entire unedit word-for-word error message (OR show us a screen capture of it)

Those are from old irrelevent and deleted files. They are not ones that I'm trying to access.

My files are all on the "G drive"

I tried opening the photo directly from the file on the "G drive" with a photo viewer and I got this. Maybe my permissions are the problem? If so, I'd need assistance with that as well.

I notice your Lr info panel reports your OS as Windows 8.1
Have you looked at the 'Properties'- 'Attributes' for the {Pictures} folder on the Elements G:drive?
If [Read Only] is checked- un-check it. Do a 'cold' re-boot of your computer.
Another thought- The apostrophies in your Folder names (2010's) could be a problem to Lr. Can you rename a folder IN Lr.
