Files on drive not connecting to catalog

The photos on L drive were connected to catalog 2-3-v12.  Each of those folders marked by year contain files. 

Now they are not recognized there when I open catalog 2-3 v12.   Do I have to re-import?

Also I would like to combine all the catalogs into one, as I sometimes forget which catalog I am in and I post current photos to the older catalog (2-3 v12), when they should go 2020v-12.

I have always start a folder each year, and then post that years photos into it, by date and title.   Unfortunately in 2022, the catalog stop recognizing the main folder - the year.  

How will the catalog look if I combine the files.  I would like to have them nice and organized like outlined on the L drive.
