Hi all,

We're happy to announce the release of Lightroom Classic 10.1, Lightroom 4.1, and Camera Raw 13.1 which includes the support for the Nikon Z6 II camera.

Here's the list of new cameras and lenses

Let us know if that helps and share your feedback with us.

Thanks,

Mohit

According to this post, the Nikon Z6II NEF files should work with the new 13.1 camera raw plug-in. Unfortunately, it is still not working with elements 2021.  Should this work?  The DNG converter doesn't work either. Very disappointing if this post is incorrect and if it is correct, what do I need to do to get it to work?

Camera Raw 13.1 supports your camera, as will the DNG Converter 13.1, so some other problem is occurring!

Please post any error messages with the exact wording, or a screen-clip.

"Not working"  and "doesn't work either" is not sufficient information for anyone to make a diagnosis.

Please include the following-
Adobe product and Version number. A Screenshot of the info panel from MENU: Help/System Info...
Operating system and Version number.
The full text of any Error Message(s)
What you were doing when the problem occurred
Screenshots of the problem.

You'd be wise to start a new thread on this.

Hello Mohit

I'm finding since I've updated, my overall import time is very slow.  I mean painfully slow.  To import a single image it's taking better than a minute ( I have not timed it ).   Regardless of the body.  I am dragging frames in from PhotoMechanic, which I've been doing for years without any issue.  Prior the folder would immediately pop up and show all the files, with the images selected 'tic'd' and highlighted.  That now take about 20-30 seconds, and then once I select Import, it's better than a minute for any response from the software (ie the status bars do not come up, etc)  I have not tried reloading the software.  I'll start there and circle back.   Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this slow import.  Thanks!

Have you done any testing to see if the problem is the camera card/card reader/other hardware?

The files are already on my hard drive.  This drive is external to where the software is, but the latency in reading the files is unusually long.  I have not had a chance to reload the software.  Plan on doing that this evening.

Recent test.... Z6II NEF file.  Dragged from PhotoMechanic, into PHOTOSHOP, and Camera Raw opened that file in 4seconds.

Same file, dragged from PhotoMechanic, into Lightroom.   9 seconds to recognize the file location and load all the available files (normal), and well over 2mins to ingest that single Z6II NEF file.

I'll reload software.  And see if that helps and circle back.

Mohit,

I'm rather confused by ACR v13.1.

I see you have added RAW support for the new Nikon Z6 ii & the imminent Z7 ii. However, unlike all the other Nikon Z cameras that ACR supports, there are no camera profiles for these to new Z bodies.

Surely, without a profile for the actual cameras, the lens profiles which are added automatically may be completely incorrect, or am I missing something here?

I am intrigued why no camera profiles?

Chris

Has anyone heard when LrC will support the Nikon Z6 II. I have worked away around it but it certainly isnt ideal and is very time consuming.

No. Adobe does not announce when or if they will be supporting a camera model.

They will no doubt but when is anyones guess.

Thanks for getting back to me Just Shoot Me - much appreciated. I remember this happened when i first got my Nikon D850. But from memory it didnt take that long for LrC to get the D850 locked and loaded. Hopefully the same will apply with the Z6II.

For those of you using Luminar, I have been uploading my Z6 II raw files to Luminar then transfering them to LR classic. As long as I keep my memory card in until I save all my edits to a desktop file they are reccognised. This has been the only other way I have found to get around the slow moving LR Z6 II raw file update. Hope this can help someone.

I tried this, but the Nikon software does the same thing even when j try to save as TIF or JPEG.

O. And I'm on a PC not Mac.

I created a small, open-source utility that can fix the files until there is a fix from Adobe, Apple and others. Hope this helps https://github.com/inadarei/nikonzfix

I tried this and it doesn't work, apparently I've heard that apples new update doesn't support the Nikon software. Is there any other way to make the conversion from RAW to TIFF. I'm in need of help ASAP as I have just traded in my old camera to the z6 2 and now I can't do any of my upcoming jobs.

Z6-2 raw. As the say- "Up sh.. creek without a paddle!  New camera, new software, new OS.

Lightroom-Classic does not yet support.

Nikon Capture-NX-D does support but NOT in Mac BigSur! (August 2020: "compatibility results will be announced later")

For those with this problem-  Do you have friends with a PC that could export as TIFs from Capture NX-D until support is provided?

So do I need to take back my Mac to Catalina for the Nikon software to work correct?

Also do you know how long it will take for Adobe to fix this issue as this has caused me a lot of issue?

Kind Regards
