Question

Flashing and flickering in Lighroom and LRC.

I have had this problem across two devices, with two different GPUs and versions of windows now. My screen flickers and flashes black for small periods of time when I move my mouse and make edits, sometimes just moving my mouse causes the flicker and it nearly gives me migraines after hours of use.

I have tried all GPU related changes on the forums and reinstalled LR multiple times and still get this flashing and flickering, its unbearble and ruins my workflow. All my GPU drivers are studio and updated and it still flickers with an empty cache and gpu turned off in preferences. Help!

Have you checked whether there is a newer driver available for your GPU?

Looks like I'm having the same exact issue. Impossible to edit on my Windows 11 desktop due to the flickering. It's not only annoying but headache-inducing, similar to PWM flicker. I've rolled back the nVidia driver version and also tried installing the studio driver, but the issue persists. A clean install of Lightroom did nothing. No issues at all on my MacBook Pro. Not helpful though when my desktop is my main editing machine.

Your System Info indicates that you're using Lightroom Desktop 8.x not Lightroom Classic 14.x. Therefore, you'd be best creating a new thread in the Lightroom Ecosystem forum.

Shared here since the OP mentioned Lightroom along with LRC, so seemed directly related. In any case, I made a post in the other group as well.

I have the exact same issue.
I've not changed anything, nor done any Windows 10 updates and this just started in the past couple of days.
When I use the Keyword list to filter images, the screen refreshes twice.
I'm using the latest drivers and LRC is fully up to date.

There are a ton of separate threads regarding flashing and flickering.  As I also suffer from chronic migraines and don't care to search every single one, perhaps you could recommend an existing one.  Creating yet another seems counter-productive as they don't attract any replies.

Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.
