Question

fuji XPro-3 files into lightroom classic

Hello, I've added a Fuji Xpro3 to my kit and am having difficulty importing the files to my LR Classic (desktop). I have the latest Mac OS and LR versions.

I don't want to add a workflow step to convert to prior to editing, so what can I do?

Thanks 🙂

    I'm using a 2015 macbook pro

So, you should be able to upgrade your MACOS to Monterey, but not Ventura (and as noted, Ventura not recommended currently, LrC and Ventura nit happy together)

macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers | Apple

macOS Ventura is compatible with these computers | Apple

Note that the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, a.k.a Adobe Creative Cloud, will only indicate the last two LrC major versions. So v12, and v11. LrC v11 requires MACOS Catalina v10.15 or later, as you have v10.13, no joy. Their is an alternate method of acquiring the LrC upgrade, but it would be better to upgrade the MACOS then upgrade LrC, etc, in the normal route.

What exactly is the difficulty that you're having? Precisely what steps have you been taking?

Hello John and thanks everyone for responding,

I'm using a 2015 macbook pro and importing via the SD card slot on the machine.

The .JPG files import but then the .RAF files cannot be opened by LR.

OS and LR version along with example screenshots attached 🙂

The clue is in your last screenshot showing the system info - the X-Pro is newer than the LR 2015.14 that you're using. As you're a subscriber, update to the latest version of LR.

How are you connecting the SD card?

    • SD card in camera, connected to computer via USB (poor)
    • SD card in camera, connected to computer via WiFi (lousy, not recommended)
    • SD card in card reader (preferred)

How are you copying from the SD card to the hard drive?

    • via LrC
    • via Finder

Once in LrC, what import option are you selecting

    • Add (not available if from SD card)
    • Copy
    • Copy as DNG
    • Move (do not do that)

    RAW + JPEG

In LrC preferences, general tab, import options, the box for "Treat JPEG files next to RAW files as separate photos". On or off?

@GoldingD , The author indicated he was having problems importing images from a new Camera and I sent the list of supported cameras. His camera is supported however it also has the ability to Create HDR Raw images which according to the needs them to be converted to DNG which he wishes to avoid.

See the screen capture with contains the footnote, this relates to new camera he purchased,

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Refer to the link below. It's the list of supported camera models. Your Camera is supported but you will see there is a special note with reference to HDR images from the Camera.

    Thanks,

I've not selected HDR, but have chosen Fine + RAW - could that be the issue?

    Thanks,

I am not sure, I have no experience using Fujifilm cameras.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.
