Gradient Mask not working correctly

New Here ,
May 31, 2023 May 31, 2023

When using the radial gradient mask and I use invert it activates the outer areas of the circle but without inverting it the inner circle mask is active. It is working the reverse way. How can I correct this?

What you can try is to reset the preferences to the default settings.

Reset Procedure:

  • Close Lightroom.
  • Windows: Hold down [Alt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
Mac: Hold down [Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
  • Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
  • Close Lightroom.
  • Restart Lightroom.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

Reset preferences for what?

It always worked like this (and in my opinion it is designed to work this way): radial filter selects internal area, with "Invert" checkbox selected - external area.

The only thing that needs to be fixed is Adobe documentation which states the opposite behaviour:
