Question

HDR and rejected photos

For years i have been doing batch HDR using the keyboard shortcut and typing X to reject the original photos and then stuck only with the HDRs.

I had if not the last but was an updated LR version. I formated my Mac and did a brand new install of everything altough using my 2024 catalog. So i don't know if this is a new error or what. But now when I type X to reject the photos as soon it creates the HDR it is created rejected. I really don't know what's going on. And sometimes it doesn't happen and the HDR photo is not reject automatically but most of the time it's created rejected and for the years I have been doing this daily this never happened. If someone know what's going on or if is something new to LR please change it back.

Mac Os Ventura 13.6.5

LR Classic 13.2

Running LrC 13.3.1 on Windows.... every time I do a HDR merge, the resulting DNG is marked Rejected.

Are you using Android because mine is suddenly doing the same thing after updating today.

Hmm, in my LR 13.2 / Mac OS 14.2.1, I don't observe that behavior. When I do a Merge To HDR, the merged DNG is not marked as rejected even if the selected input files are rejected. See this screen recording:

If you're doing different steps than shown in the recording, please describe them in detail, or better attach a screen recording (not a phone video) of the entire LR window showing the undesired behavior.

yes, this never happened to me before. It seems arbitraty, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Its seems if I do one by one it doesn't happen, but as soon I start to batch one after another it gets confused. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/wb4rjy5i5j0nmljw6v40x/Hdr-error.mp4?rlkey=99hp4ok7fpaz0u2w8eej6mqgo&dl=0

I tried to carefully reproduce the steps in your screen recording and to the steps quickly and slowly, and the problem doesn't occur in my LR 13.2 / Mac OS 14.2.1.

"It seems arbitraty, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Its seems if I do one by one it doesn't happen, but as soon I start to batch one after another it gets"

This may have a similar cause as a bug that affected many people some months ago, where using the arrow key to advance quickly through photos in the filmstrip and make adjustments caused LR to get confused. This was a "race condition", happening some of the time to some people and never to others.

But in that case, there were enough people afflicted by the problem that eventually Adobe paid attention and people were able to cause the bug to occur frequently enough so that Adobe was able to fix the issue.

Unfortunately, in this case, with only one person reporting the problem and lacking a reliable recipe to reproduce it, I'm afraid Adobe very likely won't pay attention.
