How do I get lightroom to save my presets to an External Drive

I am trying to get Lightroom to save my develop presets to an external hard drive as I use 2 separate computers in 2 different locations. The problem is when I save a preset onto one computer, it doesn't appear on the second when I plug in the external drive.

I have my catalogues setup up to stay on my external drive. I just cannot figure out how to do the same with my presets. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martyn

You could try checking Store Presets with this catalog in the LR preferences on the Presets tab.

Other than that I don't know a way to change the default location of where LR stores the User created presets.

Use right-click/Export to put a copy on the external and then on the other computer create a new presets folder and then right-click/Import. You end up with multiple copies of each preset, but they are small - 2 to 4 KB each one.

I don't get the Export/Import option when I right click on my new presets? Can anyone help me? If I Show in Finder it's an xmp document instead of LRpresets like usually.

To import presets, click on the little plus in the upper right corner.

Presets have changed. They are now xmp.
