Question

How do I open a shared album in LrC to edit collaboratively?

A coworker shared an album with me, but it seems like the only option for editing is the web version of LR. Is there a way to get these in LrC without downloading them, re-importing them to my LrC, and separating them from the collaborative feature?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We're here to help.

Which version of Lightroom are you using? How is your co-worker sharing the album? Would you mind sharing your workflow? Are your photos synced?

The new Share feature in Lightroom Classic enables you to now share your pictures with others. You can seek feedback and comments and see what kinds of photos viewers are interested in.

Importantly:

  1. Any collection synced with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom mobile can be shared.
  2. When you share a collection for commenting and feedback, you receive a URL of the location of the photos (on https://lightroom.adobe.com/). Anyone with a valid Adobe ID can access this URL.

Please check this article to know how you can share an album and work collaboratively in Lightroom classic:

Let us know if this helps.

Regards,

Ranjisha

@Ranjisha Sengupta , the link you provided at the end of your message explains how to share a collection so that others can make comments, but not how to collaboratively edit a photo by multiple users.  e.g., my brother showing me how he would edit one of my pics.  thanks!

AFAIK, shared edits are not possible. Your brother could describe what he would do in the comments, but can't make edits that sync back to you.
