How do I set "as shot" as the default crop instead of "original"

Question

I imported my photos from a Canon Mark IV. I cropped the photos in-camera in several ways (1x1, 16x9). Upon importing these into LR Classic, the crop shows correctly (i.e. as I shot them). Then I make some edits and save a snapshot. I want to then go back to my original as I shot it to compare - and hit the "reset" button. But LRC resets the photo to "original" instead of "as shot" and so I can't effectively compare my edit vs. how I shot it.

So my question is - how can I make "as shot" the default crop so that when I hit the 'reset' button it shows how I shot it? Bit of an annoying issue.

Instead of resetting the image back to the "original" state, why don't you try the "Before and After" Compare mode in the Develop module. That compares the currently edited image ("After") with the original imported image ("Before"), and that "Before" view includes the "As Shot" crop.

As far as I know, this can't be set.You may want to check if taking a snapshot before editing works for you. You can always go back to that snapshot then. However, this includes all development, not only the crop.
