How do I uninstall then reinstall Lightroom

Hi all,

How do I uninstall then reinstall Lightroom on my MacBook Pro?

I have Creative Cloud. Do I simply Uninstall Lightroom on my MacBook then reinstall from Creative Cloud?

My Aim: I want to be able to edit from my iMac and MacBook using the same Backup. I keep my Lightroom Backup and all photos on an external Hard Drive when editing on my iMac.

My Problem:

If I plug my HD into my MacBook Laptop it defers to the Lightroom Back on the MacBook (I don't need the Backup on my MacBook).

When I tried Lightroom>File>Open on HD I got this mesage:

As I don't understand what it means and I don't want to loose all the work on the HD, I thought I would Uninstall/reinstall Lightroom on the MacBook and hope that it will open Lightroom on the HD without complications.

Can you advise? Thanks

This is a poor strategy, in my opinion. Backups are not for use. They are to be stored away and never touched, except in the rare case where something bad happens to your actual catalog.

You could put the working catalog file (not the backup) on an external HD, with all photos as well, and then move the external HD from computer to computer as needed to accomplish your goal. If you do this, and you have the same version of Lightroom on both computers, then the upgrade message ought not to appear.
