How to control what photos to sync from Lightroom CC/cloud to Classic?

Community Beginner ,

Hi,

I want my raw files in the cloud and accessible by all my devices. I therefore always import directly to Lightroom CC, and I have a library of 27k files.

I want to use Lightroom Classic for only selective things, e.g. advanced editing, EXIF data management, and batch export when I have certain projects.

I do not want Lightroom Classic to sync all my 27k cloud files but only a selected Album (created and managed in CC, e.g. on iPad) where I would temporarily have those files I want to work on in Lightroom Classic. E.g. I would have files in a "Edit in Lightroom Classic" Album created in CC and then it would become available for editing in Lightroom Classic.

Does anyone have ideas how to accomplish this? How do I control exactly what files/Album(s) I want to sync? Thanks in advance!

You cannot control what is downloaded from the cloud to Lightroom Classic, only vice versa. If you sync a Lightroom Classic catalog to the cloud, all images in the cloud will be downloaded into that catalog.

Sigh, not the answer I was hoping for but the one I needed. Thanks for clarifying. Dissapointing.

Synching Lightroom CC (or Lightroom as it is now called), and Lightroom Classic proved to be quite a challenge. I finally figured it out!

1. First important point to note: Albums in LR = Collections in LrC

2. Select images by clicking on them. Note: You cannot sync Folders; you can only sync Albums.

3. Create Album by clicking on '+' sign.

4. Check "include selected photos"

5. Click "Create."

Note:  All images need to be created through the Cloud. If LrC has synching paused, no uploads from LR will come into LrC. Go to the Cloud icon (top right hand corner), and reactivate Synching. The images from LR will appear in LrC in the "Collections" section (bottom left hand panel), in the folder automatically created by LrC called "From Lightroom."

Just to make sure I am clear about your answer. You are saying to use the most current version of  "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (5.3)" that all users MUST sync ALL their photos with Adobe's Cloud environment regardless of wheather or not said end user wants to use Adobe's cloud environemnt.
