How to export photos to a parent's subfolder with suffix

Hi,

new user here but I am quite strong with other raw editors.

In my workflow I am used to create the main event folder (i.e. my_birthday) and create a subfolder for the raw files: ./my_birthday/my_birthday_RAW
Now I develop all photos in the _RAW folder but how can I export them in ./my_birthday/my_birthday_JPG?
Of course I would avoid to specify everytime manually the folder. Is there a way to create a preset doing this?

I am reading lots of pages and watching several tutorial without success.

You can save the destination folder in an export preset, and you can also rename files on export. What you cannot do however is rename a file named 'whatever_raw' to 'whatever_jpg'. The rename options do include adding a suffix to the file name, but not removing a suffix from the file name. As the file extension will already be .raw versus .jpg, there is no real reason to add '_raw' or '_jpg' to the file name.

Thanks for the answer, but maybe my question was not clear. I am not asking about renaming files and I don't want to save a "fixed" destination folder.

I simply would like to know if it is possible to save developed files in a folder that has the same name of the parent folder (plus suffix). that's it. Of course I need some "meta-variable" mechanism to say "save in {parent_folder_name}/{parent_folder_name}_JPG"

I imagine this is not possible 😞

If you mean that the export preset reads the file name and then auto-selects a destination folder based on that file name, then that is indeed not possible.
