Question

How to link to dng, instead of existing links to RAWs - any easy way?

Hi there,

I did a big fault and converted many thousands of RAWs (NEF) to dng.

So, its a blamable story, but now I need to ask:

In the LR catalog all links are existing to the NEFs, but I definitly do not have those NEFs, but the dngs.

Now I can click on "search folders" and can confirm: "yes, take this dng", but LR does not grab and relink all other dngs in that folder.

It´s of course a nightmare to relink each dng manually.

So, is there any known workaroud to relink one folder at a time?

Of course I can import all dngs, but in that case all history and settings are lost...

thanks to all!

I have no personal experience with this plugin, but it looks like this is something you could use. Import the DNG files, then use http://lightroomsolutions.com/syncomatic-4-0/ to sync the settings from the raw files to the imported DNG files. After you have done that, you can remove the raw files from the catalog.

I have Syncomatic and it works great for copying the Edits/Metadata from the DNGs to RAW. It has all kind of settings you can use
