How to move multiple folders (directories) in one go to another location?

I want to move a lot of directories to another disk. I can do that one directory at a time. That is very elaborate and time consuming. I can select all the directories I want to move, I can drag them to the other disk, but when I release the mouse button nothing happens.

 

Idea: This should be possible!

Dragging folders to another disk usually is possible.

 

However, I strongly recommend that you use File Explorer to move the directories and then reconnect the catalog with their new locations (see option 2):

It's significantly faster.  And though moving directories in LR has been pretty reliable the last several years, there are rare but persistent reports of LR losing files.
