How to select certain aspect ratios, e.g. all 4:3 pictures, in a folder?

I have over 3.000 pictures in my current vacation folder, some with the SLR and some with different smartphones. Most of the the smartphone pictures have the aspect ratio 4:3, but not all (panorama pics).

I want to select all real 4:3 pictures and get them croped to 3:2, so that I finally have just 3:2 ratio pics and panorama pics.

1) How can I systematically select all pics of one specific ratio (e.g. 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9)?

2) What is the best way to quickly get them croped to 3:2?

Thanx a lot for your help!

This is a huge amount of work, the cropping will have to be done manually on each photo (you could globally crop them all and then you'd probably need to adjust each one), and maybe this is a valuable process to you, but I'm not seeing the benefit.

In fact, if it was me, I would only crop the photos when I need to export them to have a constant aspect ratio; I would not do a global crop of the photos otherwise.

But anyway, to search for specific aspect ratios:

There are plugins that will do this: the AnyFilter plugin from John R Ellis; and the Extended Search filter from Jeffrey Friedl (and possibly others)

To do the crop: select all photos, go to the Develop Module, Enable Auto-sync (Settings->Enable AutoSync), do the crop, and the crop will be applied to all photos selected. Remember to turn off Auto-Sync. Manually adjust each of the crops of your 3000 pictures.

You can search by camera name. Pull up the Library filter above the grid and click “Metadata”

Tab with the backslash key to show or hide the top filter bar.
