How to STOP sync & remove LrC from creative cloud sync ecosystem

I'm a hobby photographer. I use the Lr Mobile App to edit photos I take on my phone for IG, and sometimes for finer tuning I pull them up on my iPad or MacBook via LrCC. I like that it's simple and clean, and I have enough cloud storage for these smaller sets of photos.
However if I do a larger photoshoot or event with hundreds of shots, I use LrC and local/external storage, not the cloud. But I don't like to have my mobile images in there, it's off-topic clutter. I'm 90% sure based on searching this sub and the adobe help forums if I go into LrC settings and "Delete All Synced Data" it will clear the IG edits from CC and Mobile as well, which I do not want. I can dig into the Mobile Downloads.lrdata file and delete the local photos that way I believe, but I assume they'd just resync anytime I use CC/Mobile.
Is there a way to keep Lr Mobile and Lr CC synced and talking to each other over the cloud, but keep Lr Classic in its own local offline bubble?
Specs:
iPhone 12 Pro - iOS 16 (current)
- Lr Mobile v 8.5.1 (current)
MacBook Pro (Retina 15-inch, Mid 2015) - OS 12.6 Monterey (out of date, updates not supported)
- Lr CC 6.5 (current)
- Lr C 12.4 (out of date, afraid to strain old computer with updates)

Turn off the LrC Sync with the cloud, and leave it off. (This is done on the right side of the LrC screen, it's a cloud icon) See section 1 here.

I've looked there, but it's just "on" there doesn't seem to be a way to turn it "off". "Pause" I'm pretty sure just pauses it until there is new activity. And I'd still have existing cloud files in Classic, can't delete them.

Edit: Just tried pausing sync, removing the synced images from disk. I added a new photo to Lr Mobile to test.
When I reopen LrC, the "sync" kick's back on and the new photo appears. I don't want mobile photos in classic!

Click on the cloud icon and Pause syncing.
An alternative is to create a blank catalog, then import your catalog file into that new blank catalog, and then I believe that LrC will not sync this new catalog with the cloud.

Pause syncing is only a temporary fix, it will automatically turn back on and resume syn when you reopen LrC

My LrC does not do this.
