Question

How to upgrade Lightroom classic 3.6 to Creative cloud 20Gb photography plan using redemption code

Hi

I have just transferred my Lighroom 3.6 to my new computer (and all seems to be working ok).

I now want to install Lighroom Classic and Photoshop using a redemption code that I purchased on Amazon in November 2023.

How is best to do this?

Do I install the software from the adobe website.  and it will then just upgrade the existing 3.6 software that is on the laptop?

Do I follow instructions for adding the redemption code or is it better to do free trial and then add the redemption code once the software is installed and the old  Lightroom 3.6 version has been updated?

What procedure do I use for Photoshop, I don't have any versions of this on my computer.

I appreciate you help with this.

I don't think it matters which order you do this. Nor do I think using the free trial or using the actual subscription version matters here.

PS: Lightroom 3.6 will not be upgraded. You will have brand new software called Lightroom Classic 13.2 on your computer, along with the old Lightroom 3.6. In other words, you now have both on your computer. However, your Lr 3.6 catalog file will be upgraded to a Lightroom Classic 13 catalog, and now you will have both catalogs on your computer. Deleting the Lr 3.6 catalog and uninstalling the Lightroom 3.6 software can be done whenever you are convinced LrC 13.2 is working properly.
