I ahbe two catalogs: a working catalog and a archive catalog. Every 2-3 month I set them over.

I wanted to do it this time, but I get the message "Lightroom konnte diesen Katalog nicht importieren, da ein unbekannter Fehler aufgerteten ist" (cant export, unknown error)

I tried it from different catalogs (base as well as destination, I made new catalogs, different photos, with and without preview. I set LR back to V7... nothing

I cant import the retouched files and its really annoying

Is maybe something unclear? Or what should I do?

Is here another way of getting support from Adobe? I asked in the chat, they wont help me with LR. How can it be that I am paying a montly fee and there is no support?

Is your 2nd catalog you are importing from reside on a network drive/NAS?

The ability to import from a catalog in such a location was disabled recently in one of the 7.x releases.

So both catalogs need to be on either a local drive or an external hard drive.

All drives are internally. I also tried different catalogs and variations. I dont use external drives or NAS

    Maybe its relevant.

While importing files: Some photos get imported then it stops. I can not pinpoint that its is related to a specific file since the number of succescully imported photos differs. I also tried to import differnt folders of photos seperately.

So I dont know if its related to some corrupted files. I wasnt able to identify any.In case several files in several folders must be corrupted what I find unlikely.

I also had yesterday another weird thing going on. I imported some photos from a session by copying them to the folder and synchronizing the folder. It would only import around 1/2 of the photos whatever I try. I unchecked "dont import" identical copies in the import dialog window. Still it would not add the remaining photos. Instead (!!!!!) it imported duplicates from another session from another folder from another harddisc. I tried it 4-5 times because I thought I am doing something wrong. Every time it added the missing number of photos (gues with the same name) from another folder and made a copy of that!

    Thanks a lot Axel.

Maybe I was not clear. I can open catalogs that is not the problem.

The problem is that I cannot import photos from one catalog to another.  I use "file"--> "import from other catalog" And then I ll get the message: "cant import, inknown error

I dont see how the last 4 links apply to the problem.  I try to reset LR preferences, but if I restart LR with holding "Shift+Alt" I ll get to The catalog choosing menu

The A and B drives in Windows tend to have lingering attributes identifying them as floppy drives. This may be giving LR some problems.

Try copying those catalogs to the C drive (or higher) and see what happens.
