Import Crash

I am not using a card reader. I have tried two different cards in two
different cameras and they both cause trouble. I just reset my
preferences, but that didn't help. How do I revert back to my old
presets? I backed up the Lightroom folder before I rest preferences, then
restored it, but that didn't work.
