Import preset does not always apply

I have a user preset that I want to apply to every photo I import. I have it selected in the import window. When I import (many) photos only some of them get the preset applied.

I can prove it by looking at the history of the image. It shows that the preset was applied on import but subsiquent history items don't have the preset settings applied. The preset includes using AUTO from the basic panel.

I am using the current version of LRC on a Mac.

This is really negatively impacting my workflow.

Help.

I should say, sometimes I am importing 1,500 to 2,000 photos from an atletic event. I need to go through them quickly to deliver them.

Sounds like a bug.

Does it work if you apply that preset via Quick Develop AFTER import?

And what occurs if you apply the preset after importing?

LR has always had bugs with applying Auto to large batches of photos. In fixing some of the older bugs, Adobe introduced new ones.

To determine whether you're tripping over one of those existing bugs or a new one (for which we should submit a bug report) and to provide a workaround, please do this:

1. In the Presets panel, right-click the preset and do Show In Finder, which will open Finder with the preset's .xmp file selected. Attach the .xmp file to your reply here.

2. Describe the precise step-by-step you're doing to observe the problem (your current description is a little vague).

3. Select one of the problem photos in Develop and post here a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the entire History panel.
