Importing from Canon 5D Mark IV

Been importing from camera, but now suddenly will not import.  EOS is listed under Source but shows no photos.  But can use Canon software to download to computer and then pull into LR.  When using a friends Mark IV that I was testing, I also could not import directly into LR CC Classic.  I tried quitting app and restarting - no help.  Have latest version.

Please state the exact version NUMBER of your Lightroom. We need the version NUMBER and not words like "latest"

Is there any chance that you switched to taking dual pixel raw images?

    LR Classic CC 7.3.1

    Dual Pixel raw is disabled

Never could download directly from friends Mark IV that I was trying before buying mine.

My new Mark IV downloaded OK 3 days.  Then last night when working with presets could download initially then would not thereafter.

Worked with it some more.  In camera there is a Image Transfer menu and under that Transfer Raw and Jpeg.  JPEG Only was somehow highlighted (did not go near that last night so do not know why it changed).  Set it to transfer RAW only and then I could download.

Thanks for exploring this with me.

So you cannot import from your camera but you can import from a friend's camera?  What was different between the two scenarios?  Different computers, different cables, different settings on the camera?
