Question

Importing fujifilm GFX files - missing files

I've had my GFX for about three weeks and am still getting the feel of it. I have been a X-T1 and X-T2 user for several years. I import my images into Lightroom. I've noticed that when I import my GFX images, JPG and RAF, some of my JPGs do not import but the RAF file is doubled. For example a file named _DSF0271.raf will get imported also as _DSF0271-2.raf. The JPG will not get imported. This does not happen on all imports. The last import consisted of 48 files. They were a combination of RAF and JPG files but 12 files were shown with the -2.raf. The corresponding JPG file was not imported. When I tried to import that same card into Lightroom, a second time, the correct JPG files were imported.  My camera is set to writing RAF and JPG files to the same SD card.

This seems like it a Lightroom problem as the SD card shows the correct files.  Anyone having the same issue?

A number of people have reported this, that photos show up twice and some don't show up at all.

I believe this to be some sort of bug. I do not know if the bug is in Lightroom or in your operating system or in the camera.

You should probably file a bug report with Adobe. Photoshop Lightroom | Photoshop Family Customer Community

I will file a bug report (if I can find where).  The problem only shows when I import files from my new Fujifilm GFX medium format camera.  It has never shown for any other camera.  I have been using Lightroom to import files since Version 1.  The SD card shows all the files listed properly.  I think it must be a Lightroom bug.  Maybe the larger file size has something to do with this.  Thanks for your input.

I gave you the link to report a bug.

Could you also please try the following: examine the camera card with your operating system to see if the proper JPG and RAW exist on the camera card? If so, please try using different hardware (different card reader, or use the USB cable instead of the card reader) when you import to rule out that the problem is some hardware malfunction.

Are you connecting the camera directly to the computer or using a card reader?

If camera directly to computer then try a card reader.

I am using a card reader.  The same card reader that I have been using for several years.  When I import files from my other cameras, I have no problems.  Just the importing of Fujifilm GFX 50S is showing the problem.
