Importing raw files from Sony RX100 vii

My files are stored on an external hard drive. I've never had trouble importing raw photos previously, but LR won't import the files from my new Sony RX100 vii.

The photos are already in your catalog, and should not be imported again. (Importing photos more than once is not a good practice and can cause further problems).

You need to find these photos in Lightroom Classic. Follow all four of these steps in order:

1. In the Lightroom Classic Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Classic Filter Bar

When images are greyed out as those are, that is usually an indication that the images have already been imported into that catalog.

Are you connecting to the camera with a USB cable or importing from the memory card with a card reader?

Please describe in detail which steps you're taking and what you see.  Full resolution screenshots of the entire LR window are worth many thousands of words.

Hi,

I’m using LR Classic 12.0. I upload my photos to an external hard drive using a memory card inserted into my iMac. Then I import from LR from the EHD. There’s no error message. The photos are all grayed out and unavailable for import.See screen shot below. I’ve had no trouble with this system until I purchased my Sony XR100 vii.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Please tell us exactly what happens when you can't import the files. If there is an error message, please quote the exact complete unedited error message.
