When Importing two folders (a primary folder and subfolder) the files from both folders are merged into the primary folder. For example, iimporting a primary folder with CR2 files and a subfolder with JPG fiiles will result in both the CR2 files and JPG files in the primary folder and JPG files in the subfolder. How can I keep the cotents of each folder separate?

Also if you have "Show Photos in Subfolders" checked in the LR Classic Folders section then when you highlight a Top Level folder it will show you all the images in that Top Level folder and all images in any Subfolders under that top level folder.

So those imagaes aren't really in that Top Level folder. LR is just showing you what is in all the Subfolder.

This is good to know. How do I find the LR Classic Folders section in order to turn off "Show Photos in Subfolders?"

Thank you.

Two places-

1) From the Main Menu-

2) From the (very small) drop-down menu beside the [+] on the Folder panel header-

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

You have Copy or Moved selected instead of the Add option in the import dialog window.
