In Camera Crop On Import

On import Lightroom Classic copies my Canon EOS R (CR3) in camera crop of 4:3 but doesn't do the same with my Canon 6D files (CR2). Any LR users know why?

@GoldingD  The OP is using 'Camera Settings' as default for all cameras, so that is not the issue. I think DSLR cameras like the 6D never really cropped. The crop overlay was just an overlay in the viewfinder, so you had an idea how the image could be cropped in post. Remember that the viewfinder of a DSLR is an optical viewfinder. It does not show the image generated by the sensor.

Most likely your 6D does not save this info in the metadata of the file, so Lightroom has no idea you used that setting.

Actually thinking about it, the EOS R is mirrorless and there fore you see the crop in the evf which isn't possible with dslr so it would make sense.
