Inadequate System Requirements Lightroom

My Dell computer is a Windows 8.1  1.7 GHz 4.00 GB and the current Lightroom options are not compatible with the system.  Are there any older versions that I can download or is a new computer the only option?

Agreed that it does run on Windows 7. I didn't mean to imply that it only ran on Windows 10, but just assumed that someone on Windows 8 wouldn't likely downgrade to Windows 7.

Yes but person B reading this thread who has Windows 7 sees JohnREllis say Windows 10 only, and (incorrectly) makes the decision that he has to upgrade his operating system to Windows 10 to get Lightroom Classic.

    LR Classic requires Windows 10, 4 GB, and at least 2 GHz processor or faster:

    Even if you are able to install Windows 10 on your computer and then LR, it is likely going to be very slow.

    John, the link you provided shows that Lightroom does run on Windows 7, so you shouldn't imply that it only runs on Windows 10.

     

    Of course, it does not run on Windows 8.
