Just curious ... how to buy the Lightroom Perpetual License on Adobe's new web site

LEGEND ,

Today, the Adobe web site has been revamped, and it's all Creative Cloud.

I'm just curious, if I wanted to buy the perpetual license version of Lightroom, how do I do this? About 10 minutes of surfing at adobe.com failed to find a web page where I can purchase the perpetual license.

It's not easy, I'll grant you that. But it is possible.

From the adobe.com homepage:  MENU > Products > All Products > Photoshop Lightroom > Buy

Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Regards,

Jeff

Hi djp

I guess you use the download links and licence on line after 30 days as usual.

Some people seem to be having problems launching the updates; so I’m sticking with 5.4 until the dust settles.

Lightroom 5.5:

Paige,

I can't find it, either.

Even though I subscribe to the photography package in CC, I'm not in any hurry to upgrade any of my Adobe software to the 2014 versions. Adobe seem incapable of releasing updates without major SNAFUs.

Well, Jeffrey that works. Now, I've never been a conspiracy believer, nor have I ever been an Adobe basher, but it sure seems that Adobe is trying to steer people to buy the CC version.

I'm struggling to find an option to purchase a standalone version. Have Adobe eliminated the option since the above posts?

I've tried following Jeffrey's instructions...

"From the adobe.com homepage:  MENU > Products > All Products > Photoshop Lightroom > Buy"

But it is only given me the option to purchase via creative cloud.

I really hope Adobe have not eliminated the option to buy a standalone version. If that is the case it will really push me to consider alternative products.

That link is on the bottom of every page at Adobe.com so you have to scroll down to see it, rather than it being on the menu.

5.5 went on smooth as silk for me. Win 7 x64. Alas, no Grad Filter eraser.

Couldn't you use an Adjustment brush with the opposite settings or do you mean something else?

Hey guys, if you're going to talk about installing LR 5.5 and the new features (or lack thereof), that's great, I'd like to hear what you have to say ... and so would a lot of other people. Put this stuff in its own thread with a meaningful title so everyone will find it.

Let's leave this thread for purchasing the perpetual license, which I think has been answered.

Well, no, I can not find that "Buy" thingy... Think that I want to buy it, jeeeez, I am not asking for a torrent with the pirate full copy...

You would believe it is a huge yellow flashy button on top of every page...

Yes.

All I find is to buy monthly some Creative Cloud stuffs... I just want one payment, Lightroom, for me. No school, no professional.

Me. Money. Lightroom. Thank you. Bye.

E-Bay can doi these things, WalMart and even my friend Joe here selling lightbulbs online...

Yes I am a tad frustrated...

There's no need to buy LR from Adobe if you don't want to. It's still available from many resellers for the same or lower price.

CS6 products perpetual license products are only available from Adobe....but still available:

AAmazing  I've just tried your link, and it took me to the Teachers and Students "Buy" page!

Oh we'll, at least it was for perpetual licences!

Edit: That wasn't a dig at you, trshaner, just an amused comment at Adobe's website.

As somebody told, menu > all products > UPGRADE (THE YOU CHOOSE THE FULL VERSION!).

But honestly, I'd rather buy it at B&H or Adorama. Yes, I thing dvd's with stickers are actually good.

No one is forcing you to do anything, many people have been purchasing the non-cloud version.

Then why is it so difficult to purchase on the Adobe site? And how long will it be before it is made difficult to purchase at retailers?
