Question

Keyboard shortcuts no longer working while editing a field

I have been using Lightroom CC for a couple of years on the same machine and one of the features I love using is editing my image full screen.

For example, to change the exposure I would enter the Exposure field by clicking in it, press f to enter full screen mode then use the up and down arrows on my keyboard. I could then move to the contrast field by hitting the Tab key and edit the contrast the same way, and so on for all the other fields.

Since the new December release, pressing a keyboard shortcut while editing a field inserts that letter in the field. I can no longer do any of my editing full screen like I used to.

Similarly, if I am editing the exposure normally (not in full screen) using the editing field, and I want to turn ON the exposure warnings by pressing "j", it inserts a j in the Exposure field. I have to close the field, press "j" and re-open it to continue editing the exposure with the warnings ON.

I am finding this very disrupting and frustrating, has anyone experienced this or is it something happening on my particular configuration?

I am using a MacBook Pro with the latest system in French, a French Canadian keyboard with the corresponding virtual keyboard and a French version of Lightroom.

Others have noticed this as well, though now it seems it may be a MAC only issue?

Previous versions or LR8.1 using Win7/10 I tested do not seem to allow this - a error message comes up each time.

Ah, your answer makes more sense of this. Now on my win 10, LR 8.1 I cannot replicate, neither on my 15” MAC Book Pro Retina (Sierra)

Not having this issue. Perhaps this should be treated a Lightroom behaves Buggy

Probably a candidate for resetting the preferences.
