Latest version of LR CC Classic doesn't download files properly

After installing latest version of LR Classic, it won't import all the files from a disc (SD or CF). For example, I had a card with eight NEF files but it only downloaded six and then just sat there doing nothing. After many minutes of waiting I told my desktop (Win 8.1) to eject the card, which I put back in my camera and erased the files that had been downloaded. Then, I re-attached the card reader and was able to download the two remaining files. This has happened enough times so that I finally uninstalled v7.2 and re-installed v7.1. Let's hope that works the way it should.

The question is why has this been happening?

Good question, but not a lot of details. I suspect that going back to 7.1 "probably" won't make a difference but I could be wrong. Were the images taken at approximately the same time? How much free disk space is there in the download location? Did you download the two "rogue" images to the same location? Did you use 7.2 to download them? If you have now reverted to 7.1, are you still seeing the same problem?

There is more than 260 GB of free space on the drive to which I was downloading and the images were all taken within 8 minutes of each other with the same camera and lens. The first six files were downloaded with 7,2 and the last two with 7.1, all to the same location. I haven't tried a new download from scratch with 7.1.
