Launching program takes 1/2 hour and other slowness issues

Hello,

LR Classic is extremely slow. Opening takes rather half an hour. Trying to export a file takes 10 minutes ore more just to open the file selector.

May be this happend with changing the SYNC conditions? I found some LR sync files in Trash but I did'nt move them there...???

I`m working with

LR Classic 14.2 Raw 17.2

MacBook Air M4 macOS 15.4

I have already tried to

- optimize catalogue,

- clear RAW cache

nothing helped.

Kind regards,

Wolfgang

As an experiment, try these things:

  • Reset preferences https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
  • Make sure you have turned off sync with the cloud (if you think you never use sync, you still need to double check to make sure it hasn't been accidentally turned on, saying you never use it is not sufficient)
  • Make sure people detection is turned off (if you think you never use people detection, you still need to double check to make sure it hasn't been accidentally turned on,

Hi, thanks for reaching out and we're sorry about the trouble! Have you tried removing the files you found in the trash to check if that makes a difference?

Please try what dj_paige suggested and let us know if it helps. If you continue to experience the same behavior, go to the Help menu in Lightroom Classic, then System info, and copy the text. You can either paste the text here as a reply or paste it into a text file and share the file with us.

Thanks,
Nikunj

Hi, thanks a lot! LR is back!

I

- reset preferences (from within LR)

- checked SYNC

- disabled people detect (in catalog presets)

- rebooted MacBook.

Now I only have to make new presets for file export. Hope I remember 🙂

Kind regards,

Wolfgang
