Lens Profiles Inconsistently Applied

The make and model is correctly applied to photos automatically. Profile had always been applied consistently as well. However, there are two options for profile and LRC applies different ones to different images. It also seems like it might be changing them back after I try to switch all images to one so I can blend them by hand in PS. When I go into PS I notice that they're not aligned properly and it's because there is slightly different distortion on some of the images. I go back into LRC and some are on one profile and some are on another and I have to change them back. I've even seen them switch automatically to another profile while I am looking at them and not touching anything in LRC. Why would this be happening? It was never an issue before and I've been using this workflow and camera gear for years.

Not related to your question, but is there a reason that you've not updated to LrC 12.2, which has features enhancements that your workflow may benefit from. You're already paying for them in your subscription. Your computer can also run macOS 13 Ventura.

So shortly after this thread was created the computer crashed and it was most likely the GPU. It did not recover from the crash and can only run in safe mode which disables the Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card. While I haven't done much testing, I am going to assume that it was likely the hardware causing erratic, unexpected behavior because there were odd media linking issues in Davinci Resolve as well a day before and crashes when using external displays - all GPU-intensive tasks. If the lens profile issue continues to be a problem on the new machine, I will upload files here and try to update. For now though I am happy with Catalina and not having to rework all of my customizations on the OS that a move to Ventua would entail. Once a harware upgrade in the future forces me to upgrade, I will deal with that process. Thank you for the help!

Thank you for your response. I will send as soon as I can. I experienced a
system crash just after I posted here initially. Something was damaged and
I am not sure what yet but I cannot use LRC anymore due to excessive visual
glitches and freezing/crashing.

Select two photos, one that LR assigns the first profile and one that LR assigns the second. Upload them to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar and post the sharing link here. We can see if the problem happens on other installations and if so, what might be causing it.

It is still happening so I will link to both a video of it happening and the files that it was happening with in the video. If you watch the video you can see that there are four files and the first two (exposures with light fixtures on) are on different profiles. In the third and fourth (exposures with light fixtures off) you can see the profile switching back to the correct one in the video as well. Here are the links. I look forward to your feedback.

It varies between these two. Each one has an option in that third category and Lighroom changes it on some of them and not others but all were from the same camera on the same lens taken within the same composition (I'm compositing images so they were all taken seconds apart within each batch). I'll get into PS after a export as layers in PS or whatever that option is in LRC and all will have one profile except, say, one image and it will ruin the compositing I'm doing. Then I go back to LRC to investigate and as I click through the individual exposures I'll see LRC changing the Profile to the other one in front of my eyes. I also tried preemtively changing them all after I noticed so that I could export to PS without issues but that didn't stop LRC from being wonky still. So to answer your question, it changes it automatically but I also manually changed it as a way to just get through my work today.

As far as I can tell the first screen capture is the profile for your lens. It was first introduced with the original Lightroom 3/ ACR 6.1. You should set it as the "Default" see the screen capture.

Lens profiles are specific to file type i.e. tiff/jpeg, raw, camera model and lens.

I do not understand "two options" is that happening automatically or are you doing that manually?
