My Canon EOS R6 mkii and RF 24-240MM F4-6.3 IS USM lens were recognised OK after the update before last. Now after the latest update they are no longer recognised by Lightroom Classic. It is defaulting to something else, even in the photos that had the correct information previously.
This is very frustrating. What can I do to correct it. The only other post on this topic was a different operating system.

"Now after the latest update they are no longer recognised by Lightroom Classic."
How is this being indicated? Screen print, please.
"It is defaulting to something else"
That's pretty meaningless, Carol - what do you mean?

Are you using an Import Preset or a Develop Preset with the camera and lens show in the screen clip?

"Sorry you feel my response is so meaningless."
Sigh...
OK, is it "defaulting" to a Windows text file?
An MP3?
A rhinoceros?
Get the point? Guessing games are fun and everything, but what's so hard about just spelling it out when asked to? I'm not asking because I've got spare time on my hands, I'm asking because details matter.
What I can tell you from the screen print is that you seem to be shooting in a format that Denoise can't use: that's why Denoise isn't working, and almost certainly why Lr can't find the correct profile - Lr needs to apply its profiles to RAW files - including your 24-240mm.

So: what format are you shooting in? JPEG? That would explain both of the problems (no Denoise, "wrong" lens profile) in your screenshot.

I assume the point of your screen capture was the Lens Corrections panel.
In Lens Corrections, for Setup, you have selected Custom. Why? Does Auto not work? Custom can lead to false results. Custom is trying to force the issue when Auto fails.
And please stop being argumentative. That can just lead to other members just ignoring your discussion. Mind you all of us try to not state exactly what we are thinking of a member coming off as you are, as that might get us placed in a time out for not being polite.
I see that you are new to the community. Some links I would advise you read, they can be helpful in use of this site:

I have come to this forum to find a solution to something that had been working fine, so I don't really know what information is relevant. I apologise again, and I am somewhat disappointed that you interpret my apology as argumentative.
Let's stick to facts please.

Update.
I have just checked a few photos from the same batch, and Lightroom Classic is now automatically detecting the lens.
The problem has gone away all on its own. How peculiar. Why would there be such a long time delay after import for it to do that?
