Lightroom 13 slow and how can i export the catalog to 12.5

Lightroom 13 is slow and having a lot of bugs, especially when using the AI noise reduction, it used taking a few seconds and now its several minutes per images and doing the job worse than the previous version with some parts of the image that increases the noise. It's also slow on zooming images and when going to the next image it doesn't change the image and i have to go to the library and then go back to develop to see the image.

here's an example of the noise reduction (Denoise at 40)

 

I'd also like to know how to export the catalog so I can open it on the previous version (12.5) when it was ruinning smooth and the noise reduction was working.

    Yep - definitely slower - especially sluggish on changing images in develop mode. reinstalled v12 and back to the old normal.

    It looks like you may be syncing your catalog with OneDrive, or even worse, placing the catalog on OneDrive.

     

    Running the catalog from OneDrive would not only bring performance down to a crawl, but could cause catalog corruption (eventually)

     

    If you are just syncing with OneDrive (my assumption) then that sync could slow down to a crawl (issue with communication to//from the cloud) and then LrC will have in sense collisions with that sync and slow down.

     

    Dump the OneDrive, either catalog location, or sync. If you want copy's as backup on OneDrive, accomplish that  separately, outside of LrC, not while running LrC.

     

    I suspect that the reason this OneDrive keeps showing up, is that MS insists on new Windows user accounts to use a Microsoft account, instead of a local user account. That occurs during initial setup of the computer. Then the OneDrive gets forced down your throat and gets involved with all sorts of things that it would have been better to have avoided. I blame this on Microsoft.

      Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

      The symptoms you describe sound like a GPU driver problem - not Lightroom. I would recommend some basic troubleshooting, including(in this order):

       

      1.  Verifying your GPU Driver with the card's manufacturer
      2.  Verifying your GPU's status in Lightroom's Preference>Performance dialog
      3.  Resetting your Lightroom Preferences
      4.  A clean reinstall of Lightroom

       

      This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

      If you are using Lightroom Desktop, it can change your local storage location. Please review this setting after resetting preferences. 

       

      Reset Procedure:

      1. Close Lightroom.

      2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

      3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

      4. Close Lightroom.

      5. Restart Lightroom.

       

      Clean Lightroom Install Procedure

      Close Lightroom

      Restart the computer

      Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom

      Restart the computer

      Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.

      Restart the computer

      Launch Lightroom

      Wait 5 minutes

        Your LrC 13 catalog cannot be exported to work in LrC 12.x.

         

        You can write the edits (and other metadata) to xmp using LrC 13, and LrC 12.x will be able to read most of the edits from the .xmp file, but it will not be able to make use of any edits that used features introduced in LrC 13.
