Lightroom 6.0 won't launch

I spent about 6 hours with tech support having control of my computer and my problem remains.

I have had LR 6.0 on my computer (Windows) for a few years.  On Saturday I upgraded from Windows 8.0 to Windows 10.0 64 bit.

LR won't launch.  I removed LR, did a restart.  LR goes thru the entire set up without a problem, then when I attempt to launch LR, I get an error message that the Lightroom.exe is missing.

The technician was obviously reading the message several times.  He when into the program file and sure enough, Lightroom.exe was not there.  We found every other Lightroom file, but the .exe was not there.

The technician gave up.  Assigned me a case number and left it there.

Can anyone help me with this?

    With regard to Windows 10 being 64 bit, did you actually check to see if it is?

    Can you do a search of your entire C: drive to see if Lightroom.exe exists anywhere?

    I kept getting a message that I must have typed in the wrong address because lightroom.exe cannot be found.

    Here’s the solution.

    Left click on the Windows button on the far left of your task bar.

    Right Click on Adobe Lightroom icon

    Hover over “more” and then click on “open file location”.

    Right click on Adobe Lightroom

    Left click on “open file location”

    Look for the Lightroom application file.  Mine looks like the desktop icon for Lightroom.

    Right click on the icon and choose “rename”.  Change the name to Lightroom.exe

    With that you probably just fixed your problem.

    DJ, thanks for trying.  That link will give me the version of Adobe that will not launch.

    That's the one I loaded.  That's the one the Technician loaded but after installing, it will not launch.

    The message is something like "You typed in the wrong location" (I typed nothing).  It looking in Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Lightrooml/lightroom and in there, it's looking for lighroom.exe.

    That appears to be the missing file.

    Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, and then try re-installing from that link.
