Lightroom 6.14 crashes when using Face Identification

Great news for Mac users I think I have it :

search for 48 8D 3D 62 22 88 00 hex string and replace with 48 8D 3D 64 22 88 00

It works for me with 56000 photos no crash anymore and no need to change system date 😉

Only drawback is when I import a new photo, LR detects a face but doesn't provide a name. But I can still put a name so it's fine for me.

Maybe an other value allows this to work but it's ok for me.

If someone is interested I use cutter to open the file and search for anything that rings a bell (that was the first time I reverse something)

I have just the same problem. Lightroom starts normally, just until I press O for face recognition, then Lightroom shuts off. The idea with the expired 3rd party face recognition software motivated me to test it.

I just set the system date to a date before December 7th 2020 restarted Lightroom and it worked fine even with face recognition.

A number of people are reporting that face recognition crashes LR 6.  See this bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum:

There is some evidence that LR 6's license for the third-party face-recognition technology may have expired.  (And if it has, it's very unlikely Adobe will patch LR 6.)

I have same problem when using face and tray put name a person, Lr6.14 crash, see the error in the picture

My 6.14 version has also suddently started crashing. In fact, I got into a death-spiral as Lightroom would partially launch then crash, again and again. No way to get back to my photos until I figured out how to resolve this.  Here is how I dealt with it:  1) Press 'CRTL' when you click the Lightroom app.  2) Choose "create a new catalog ..." at the bottom of the window, 3) Create an arbitrarily named TEST catalog anywhere on your computer. 4) When lightroom opens your new TEST catalog, choose grid view or any other view other than the people view, 5) Quit lightroom, 6) Now press 'CRTL' again when you click the Lightroom app and choose your regular catalog (not the TEST) one.  You should now be back to where you were.  Don't use the people feature until someone figures out the cause and the fix or it will cause a crash again.

Recently my nvidia driver was updated as well as camera raw 13.1. I'm wondering if it might be one of these updates?
